In March 2008, Global Rescue Services obtained the lease of a property in Dolgarrog in the Conwy Valley from Conwy County Borough Council.
Phase 1
Major work was needed to bring the building, which hadn't been used in a couple of years, up to a working condition. Thanks to a kind donation from the Cemlyn Jones Charitable Trust, we have been able to transform the ground floor into something more habitable. Not only that, thanks to sponsorship from ARROW Fire & Security Ltd, we're now fully alarmed and CCTV is in place.
Phase 2
Phase two would be to turn the upstairs into a lecture room and further storage areas. Thanks to a generous donation from nPower Renewables, Award for All Wales and Ainscough Johnston, we were able to transform the spare attic space.
Following the completion of Phase 2, the base was officially opened on the
6th March 2009 by Betty Williams MP. We were joined by representatives from other rescue services and emergency services as well as local dignitories and sponsors.
Check out some of our transformation pictures below.
